Cornucopia o’ Products
If ever there was an issue of a trade magazine chock full o’ products, this issue of RJ is definitely it. The reason is fairly simple: Two of the biggest trade shows of the year, the AHR Expo and Design & Construction Week, happened within the past few weeks (as this is written) and companies large and small have come to market with all sorts of new products aimed at making the contractor’s life easier and more profitable.
Last month we brought you a preview of the stuff making the scene at AHR. This month we’re giving you a glimpse at all the stuff we found at Design & Construction Week. Click here to have a look at 13 items partially representative of the cream of the D&C Week crop.
But that wasn’t all for products in this issue. Also this month we have our Radiant Product Roundup feature. Some of these were at D&C Week, some were at AHR and all are just the ticket to take your radiant hydronics installations to that golden “next level” to which lots of people aspire. Add those two product features together with our regular New Products section and this issue is bringing you in the neighborhood of 40 new items to consider when it’s time to stock the trucks and the warehouse.
In addition to our product coverage, we’re also bringing you a photo gallery from D&C Week so, in case you missed it, you can live vicariously through us and wallow in that good Las Vegas trade show atmosphere at your leisure. If you try really hard you can almost smell the Starbuck’s coffee and Sbarro pizza slices, can’t you?
Finally, this month will see the industry losing one of its icons to retirement. Charlie Wallace is the outgoing vice president and COO of PHCC’s Quality Service Contractors. We think you’ll find our profile of Charlie interesting (click here to read it) and I hope you’ll join us in wishing him well as he transitions to a new phase of his life. At deadline we hear PHCC has found a replacement for Wallace in the person of one Lawrence Leonard, CAE, CMP, who will join QSC as its executive director upon Wallace’s departure.
