Plumbing Power Book
Boy, it really hits you when you’re not paying attention. It seems we all just got done cleaning the grill from the July 4 extravaganza and now here we are up to our eyeballs in the Holiday season. And the Holiday season only means one thing around here – the publication of the annual Plumbing Power Book.
You are holding in your hands an issue that might well be within arm’s length of your desk all during 2015. It’s the industry’s most comprehensive directory of manufacturers, their products, their manufacturer’s representatives and wholesalers. My copy of the 2014 Power Book is dog-eared, worn out and ready to be retired and I’m glad a replacement’s here.
Speaking of trade shows, there is a trio of big ‘uns coming up next month. You might want to mark your calendar, get a plane ticket or plan on getting Old Bessy tuned up for the drive because these are no lightweight shows – they’re the ones you want to visit whether you’re a contractor, a plumbing/HVAC company or a supply chain executive.
First up is the National Kitchen & Bath Association’s KBIS show, set for Jan. 20-22 in Las Vegas. While the old wives’ tale posits this show is mainly for designers, nothing could be farther from the truth. All the major plumbing manufacturers will be there. And, since KBIS is KBIS, they’ll be displaying the newest stuff you’ll be seeing on supply house shelves next year.
Jan. 26-28 and the show activities roll into in Chicago. The 2015 AHR Expo bills itself as, “the world’s largest HVAC marketplace.” With more products and more educational seminars set against the backdrop of the Windy City’s famed
McCormick Place you just can’t go wrong.
Finally, slip into your conservative management blue suit Jan. 27-29 and pay a visit to the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributor’s 2015 Executive Summit in Washington, D.C. and engage your peers in discussions about the future of the wholesaler-distributor segment of the plumbing industry.
We’re going to be busy next month and we hope you will, too.
See you there. Aloha.
