Today, consumers can buy almost anything on Amazon.com. From obscure hard candies to various lines of plumbing products, it’s all there to be delivered to a consumers’ doorstep for just a couple of mouse clicks and a credit card number.
Turns out some people will order toilets online. That was the case on this recall, as Reeves Journal got on the truck with Dave Balboa, a technician with Barker & Sons Plumbing in Anaheim, Calif. Notice this is a recall. The family ordered a TOTO Ultramax II one-piece toilet from Amazon. The first one showed up with a broken mounting flange so it had to go back and be swapped for a different unit, which had been delivered and was sitting in the customer’s entryway in its sealed box. And that’s where the situation stood when Balboa arrived one bright, sunny Southern California morning.
