Watersmart Innovations To Advance Sustainable Solutions
The WaterSmart Innovations Conference and Exposition announced partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council to advance connections between, and accelerate sustainable solutions for, the water and building industries.
The organizations are collaborating in program development for WSI and the WaterBuild Summit at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in Las Vegas Oct. 4-6, which will focus on the complex challenges surrounding water supply, accessibility and quality and will equip attendees from a wide range of disciplines with scalable, innovative solutions for rapidly evolving legislative and environmental landscapes.
Featured at the 10th annual WSI will be a complementary session titled “Toward Net Zero Water in LEED: A Forum on Whole Project Water Use.” The session will discuss Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design’s newest performance-based approach for project teams to demonstrate reductions in potable water consumption and facilitate attendee discussion of water reuse technologies and strategies that can be implemented at the building scale.
Attendees can also join part two of the session, hosted at the WaterBuild Summit, to explore a case study presented by practitioners who have deployed this approach on a unique project type with intensive process water uses.
To broaden participation, the USGBC session at WSI will not require a conference registration. The session will be held Oct. 4 in the South Point Hotel and Conference Center. WSI will feature more than 100 professional sessions, an expo hall showcasing water-efficient products and services, and technical tours of venues illustrating Southern Nevada’s commitment to water efficiency.
