BrassCraft of Novi, Mich., announced Jul. 1 the availability of its line of plumbing products compliant with California's AB 1953 low-lead legislation. The new legislation limits the lead content of pipes, pipe fittings or plumbing fittings and fixtures intended to convey or dispense water for human consumption. The law goes into effect Jan. 1, 2010.
Since the enactment of this legislation in 2007, the company said it has been preparing for the anticipated change with respect to product development and availability. The launch schedule was designed to give plumbing professionals ample time to adjust their inventories before the law's effective date.
"BrassCraft is proud to take a leading role in engineering California and Vermont compliant products," said Scott Kay, BrassCraft vice president of operations. Additional information about BrassCraft's 100% compliant line and other plumbing products can be found on
the company's Web site.
