Reeves Journal, a monthly trade magazine for the p-h-c industry in the Western United States, announced Aug. 1 it will address today's heightened awarenness of all things ecologically friendly by adding a regular monthly column written by the administration and staff of the well-recieved GreenPlumbers USA program.
The debut column, "Why GreenPlumbers?" will appear in the September issue of the magazine and was written by GreenPlumbers USA managing director Steve Lehtonen, who explains the group's origins in the U.S. as well as other background and goals. Further columns will include such topics as drainline carry, carbon trading, installation programs, contractors' "green" responsibility to customers, among others.
"GreenPlumbers USA's goal for 2008 in the United States is to train at least 8,000 'green' plumbers," Lehtonen said. "We have plans to train 15,000 'green' plumbers in California and 40,000 nationally over the next decade. Our column in
Reeves Journal will help us reach those goals."
Reeves Journal editor Jack Sweet said the addition of GreenPlumbers USA to the magazine's lineup of expert columnists is "a natural fit."
"Reeves Journal has, for 88 years, been reporting the cutting edge of technical trends affecting the Western p-h-c industry," Sweet said. "GreenPlumbers USA is the definitive source of know-how for plumbers who want to operate their businesses in an environmentally friendly way and we're pleased to enter into this partnership with them."
The "GreenPlumbers USA" column will be written on a rotatating basis by Lehtonen, Southern California regional manager Tara Reynaud, and instructor Doug Kirk. Together, their aim is to provide contractors with the practical knowledge they need to implement "green" products, services and techniques.
