| K/BIS 2008 returned to Chicago’s McCormick Place for the first
time since 2006. Next year’s event is set for the Georgia World Congress Center
in Atlanta, Apr. 30-May 3 2009. |

Designers, manufacturers, contractors and assorted fellow
travelers swept into the Windy City April 10-13 and descended on the famed
McCormick Place convention facility to check out the newest and hottest
products and services the kitchen and bath industry had to offer during K/BIS
2008.
Organizers
earlier said they expected some 900 exhibitors displaying their wares to more
than 40,000 national and international dealers, designers, architects,
distributors, retailers, home centers and other attendees. Final attendance
figures weren’t available at deadline, but the 2008 edition of the event had a
tough act to follow, as K/BIS 2007--held in Las Vegas last year--set attendance
records with more than 44,000 North American and international industry
professionals in attendance.
“The
anticipation surrounding this year’s show in Chicago is tangible,” Michael
Kelly, CEO of the National Kitchen & Bath Association said earlier. “In the
pre-show buzz, you can already get a true sense of the vitality in the kitchen
and bath industry.”
In addition
to the trade show floor activities, professional development and networking
opportunities, K/BIS 2008 also featured celebrity appearances, roundtable
discussions and a New Product Pavilion located at McCormick’s Lakeside Center.
