AHR Awards Fund HVAC System Nearly $11,000 in entry fees from the 2010 AHR Expo Innovation Awards competition will be given to the Jacksonville Police Athletic League to help install a new HVAC control system. This donation is part of charitable support contributed annually by AHR Expo to local communities in areas where the world's largest HVAC/R trade show is held. Total contributions made during the eight years the program has been in existence amount to more than $60,000.
Gene Burch Receives Service Roundtable Award
Gene Burch of G.B. & Associates was presented with the Service Roundtable's "Servant Leader Award" in recognition for a lifetime's service to others in the plumbing industry. Rarely given, this is the highest honor presented by the Service Roundtable. Candidates for the Servant Leader Award are nominated by Service Roundtable members and reviewed by an internal committee. The Servant Leader Award recognizes individuals who have selflessly devoted a lifetime to serving others in their field.
BlazeMaster Offers Online Training for Installers
BlazeMaster Fire Sprinkler Systems has announced a new online training program designed to provide installers with tips and guidelines regarding proper handling and installation techniques for CPVC fire sprinkler systems from FBCT Building Solutions. The interactive program allows viewers to proceed at their own pace and answer questions throughout the program to help assure understanding of the individual modules. Ferguson Contributes to Education
Ferguson recently made a $10,000 contribution to support the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Educational Foundation's 2009 Invest in Your Future Annual Giving Campaign. This is the fifth consecutive year that Ferguson has made a major gift to the Foundation's annual fundraising campaign. "We are extremely grateful to our friends at Ferguson for maintaining their strong commitment to supporting contractor education," said Foundation chair Bill Jones.
Hercules Garners ASA Vendor Award
Hercules Chemical Company, a charter member of the American Supply Association, has been honored with recognition as a Four Diamond Premier Vendor by the ASA for 2009. ASA, the national organization of plumbing wholesalers, manufacturers, and sales representatives, promotes their Premier Vendor Program as being designed to recognize the unique contributions vendors make to the success of the association and the advancement of the industry. Recognition is earned one diamond at a time with a maximum recognition of five diamonds.
Lochinvar Develops Downloadable Revit Library
Lochinvar has developed a library of drawings of its commercial and residential products that are fully configured for placement in Autodesk Revit Architecture 2010 building information models. Architects, contractors and designers using the 2010 edition of Revit software, which allows them to design with parametric modeling and drafting elements, can now download the pre-programmed, 3D Lochinvar equipment models for free on the company's
Web site.
