GreenPlumbers and the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada announced recently a partnership that combines the UA’s training programs with GreenPlumbers USA’s marketing and accreditation network.
The UA has said it would provide ‘green’ training for its more than 300,000 members in the U.S. and Canada. The agreement ensures that all UA members who complete the plumbing portion of the UA’s Green Mechanical Systems Awareness class or the HVAC/Plumbing Combination will be recognized in the global GreenPlumbers Accreditation Program.
“The UA is the acknowledged leader in the U.S. and Canada in plumbing and mechanical training and we at are delighted to work with UA leaders to establish a global standard in green training,” said Steve Lehtonen, GreenPlumbers managing director.
The UA has just received USGBC education provider status and GreenPlumbers is currently in the application process. Both use the services of The National Inspection, Testing and Certification Corp., an internationally recognized third party personnel certification agency that is ISO 9001:2000 certified and is an ANSI accredited certifier.
