A plumbing tool left in a planter resulted Jul. 13 in a brief evacuation of three floors in the Los Angeles' City Hall building. Among the evacuated were a pair of L.A. City Council members.
Discovered in a planter near an entrance, a "suspicious package" consisting of a green plastic box with red and green lights, the package lead concerned authorities to cordon off a nearby street, the Associated Press reported.
Police said the evacuation and street closure lasted a mere 45 minutes after it was discovered the suspicious device was an electronic pipe finder.
