Plumbing MD, a service and repair plumbing company and franchiser located in Dixon, Calif., was recognized recently as one of the 5000 fastest growing companies in the nation by Inc. Magazine. The company landed at No. 2,171 on the list, with nearly 170 percent growth. The company has received several regional awards for growth, but this is the first national award it has earned. 
   The company saw a growth of 169.9 percent from 2006 to 2008. The company believes there are three main components that contribute to its growth, focus on customer service and continued education. Plumbing MD’s service vehicles are recycled ambulances, for example, and the company has recently started installing solar water heaters and many other “green” products.
