Organizers of the 34th Annual PHCC of the Greater Los Angeles Area Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Industry Trade Show said the May 16 event at the Long Beach Convention Center has grown to occupy a pair of exhibit halls to accommodate an enhanced program of events and seminars.
“We have more floor space this year. Last year we had all of Hall A. This year we’re in the halls of B and C with more floor space,” said PHCC-GLAA trade show manager Eddie Edwards. “We've invested 34 years to get where we are. We're doing everything we can do to make this a great show. Exhibitors need to roll up their sleeves and build relationships. When things are tough--that's the time to be out there promoting your company.”
Organizers said they have added a few activities to this year's show line up. There will be "Hands-on" seminars held right on the show floor. Manufacturers will be demonstrating their products and services in one-hour segments. Former Cincinnati Reds catcher Johnny Bench is set to appear, and there will be two raffles--one for licensed contractors and one for technicians—in which “thousands of dollars in tools, products and services” will be given away. And the New Products Pavilion will showcase the latest in new products and services.
“This is a time that creates opportunities, especially with water shortage is and alternative fuel sources,” Edwards said. “All of that makes it up to our industry to get more creative and for different products to be rolled out because people will buy them. Solar needs to come back. We have 300 days of sunlight in Southern California and we're using natural gas to heat water when we could be using the sun."
