GreenPlumbers USA, the Sacramento-based educational program that turns plumbers into advocates for the environment, said it will debut its “Train the Trainer” program early in 2009.
“Train the Trainer” is a five-part, 40-hour course enabling participants to become Certified GreenPlumber Program Trainers. Open to associations, universities and tech schools, unions, trade groups and other organizations, the program is a way to deliver GreenPlumbers training courses faster and more frequently to areas throughout North America.
The first “Train the Trainer” program will be held Feb. 2-6 in Sacramento. Additional courses will be launched around the country throughout 2009. For more information about the “Train the Trainer” program, contact Carrie McChesney at carrie@greenplumbersusa.com or call (888) 929-6207.
On a related GreenPlumbers USA note, the group said FAFCO, the Chico, Calif.-based supplier of solar heat collectors used in pool and water heating has signed on with GreenPlumbers as a founding member.
`"We are enthusiastic about our partnership with GreenPlumbers because we share the same goals and beliefs: helping plumbing professionals understand their important role in the environment through better product choices," said Jeff Wedge, vice president of sales and marketing at FAFCO.
As a founding partner, FAFCO will work with GreenPlumbers USA to bring workshops in water and energy efficiency to plumbers nationwide. For more information about FAFCO's domestic solar water heating systems, view the Web site at www.fafco.com.
