PMI executive director Barbara C. Higgens and Tim
Fisher, vice president of the Plumbing
Products Industry group, inked a Memo of Understanding at the fall PMI meeting. The document formalizes
the good working relationship already in place between the two organizations.
Higgens said, “Through the MOU, PMI and our Australian
counterpart the PPI Group will share pertinent information on best practices
and educational, technical, scientific, legislative and regulatory matters that
affect the plumbing products industries globally.” That will be done through
publications, reports, association conferences and industry meetings. She noted
that the parties will exchange invitations to their respective annual
conferences, and bring together in-kind and additional resources as required to
facilitate new and improved communications between the parties with respect to
their ongoing activities.
Higgens said PMI revised its bylaws and
membership criteria several years ago, to attract non-U.S. based companies to
its ranks.
