Longtime Reeves Journal "Legal Corner" columnist Samuel K. Abdulaziz has signed on to join the lineup of speakers planned for the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association and American Supply Association's Network '07 125th Annual Convention and Channel Marketplace, scheduled for Oct. 24-27 in Anaheim, Calif.
"We are very excited about the enhanced and focused content of Network '07 in Anaheim," said PHCC executive vice president Ike Casey. "Everyone attending will get many ideas on how to improve their business in the programs specially designed for them. Plus, they'll have the opportunity to experience sunny Southern California and all it has to offer."
Abdulaziz, from the North Hollywood, Calif., law firm of Abdulaziz, Grossbart & Rudman, has been practicing construction law for 30 years. He has written an annually updated book entitled "California Construction Law," and appears at Contractors State License Board meetings and has argued a number of cases before the appellate courts, including the California Supreme Court dealing with the "Pay-If-Paid Clause."
Abdulaziz joins keynote speaker Terry Jones, founder and former president and CEO of Travelocity.com, who will offer real-world examples of how to use electronic technology successfully.  Then there will be a number of opportunities to participate in contractor-focused seminars on topics such as financial management, employee recruiting/retention, marketing, insurance, and code issues. In addition to the speakers and trade show activities, Network '07 attendees will have the opportunity to attend a supply chain workshop followed by a networking luncheon and Channel Marketplace tabletop session, a feature organizers said they expect to be very popular.
During the Channel Marketplace, contractors will be able to talk with their manufacturer and wholesaler partners and vendors in an informal setting about the latest industry/product trends, and also share ideas on how to work together more efficiently and profitably.
Organizers said when exhibitors register to display materials during Channel Marketplace, they are automatically signing up to participate in the entire event. They will receive a free 10-foot by 10-foot space as well as full registration for Network '07, allowing them to attend the expanded number of seminars and events that are geared to their interests. Previously, exhibitors' registration only entitled them to display their products and materials at the Channel Marketplace; now they can be full-fledged participants.
Also on tap are many networking and social events, beginning with a Grand Opening Reception Oct. 24, and ending with closing festivities Oct. 26. Also, optional tours of various California sites will be offered Oct. 27.
This will be the third "Network" event, which combines the annual conventions of PHCC and ASA. Network '07 brings channel partners together in a casual, yet business-friendly environment. It focuses the spotlight on relationships, communication, and learning together.
