Anyone who has ever been the victim of the sneaky, cowardly crime of theft knows the empty and hollow feeling it causes when it's discovered.
Tradesmen of all types feel this kind of kick to the 'nads even more than most civilians because the tools that get pilfered from the shop, the back of the truck or the job site are the means of making a living. And while you're spending time making a police report and contacting your insurance company and spending the money to replace the stuff that got stolen you are, quite frankly, not making money.  It's not unheard of for a small business to go out of business as the direct result of a major theft.
The February issue of Reeves is going to contain a feature detailing your options in the theft prevention department as it specifically relates to your tools. So let the crackheads mess up somebody's else's business--arm yourself with the knowledge coming your way in the next issue of Reeves.
In the meantime, however, feel free to leave a comment detailing your tale of tool-related theft, how it affected your business and the lessons you learned. Somebody out there can benefit from your experience.
